- Support the delivery of care for patients with brain and CNS tumours.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based nursing care
- Provide expert advice and clinical practice by varying methods of communication.
- Provide specialist education and training to others.
- Provide clinical leadership for the Oncology and Skull Base service throughout the trust.
- Act as role model for all staff through provision of high standards of professional practice
- Work autonomously and be self-directed within the team
- Support the Neuro Oncology and Skull Base ANP with the management of the clinical nurse specialists and clinical support workers.
- Provide clinical expertise, specialist advice and support across the boundaries.
- Provision of care through; nurse-led follow-up clinics, transitional and pre-operative clinics, telephone clinics and triaging referrals.
- Acts as a primary point of contact for patients, working to coordinate care, provide on-going support, wound care and symptom management.
- Delivers evidence based individualised and personalised care through holistic needs assessment and in the planning and implementing of care.
