Job summaryThe Urology Department at UCLH is recruiting a highly motivated and dedicated full time urology clinical fellow to join the Female, Reconstructive and Adolescent service for a 12 month fixed term post.
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest urology departments in the UK and will have the opportunity to gain experience with our expert consultants in a specialist, tertiary referral centre.
Main duties of the jobThe fellow will be responsible for patients admitted to the service and their day to day care. They will attend ward rounds, clinic and assist in theatre. They will be expected to take part in audit and research projects, as well as take part in teaching undergraduate and post graduate students as well as other staff groups.
This role include the urology on call rota, 1 in 16, to support emergency urology admissions at UCLH.

The urology department offers comprehensive care for the whole spectrum of Urology services and is split into 6 sub-groups, the teams work together closely along with other services such as gynaecology, womens health, assisted conception unit, oncology and the Uro-radiology.

Person SpecificationKnowledge and QualificationsEssential- Eligible for full GMC registration at time of appointment and hold a current licence to practice.
ExperienceEssential- Completion of core surgical training
- Substantive experience at Registrar level in Urology.
- Proven ability and commitment to carry out high quality research, leading to publication.
- Involvement in the clinical audit process and an understanding of it's aims and objectives.
Desirable- Understanding and proven ability to apply research findings in a clinical/organisation context.
Skills and AbilitiesEssential- Management of urological and andrology emergencies.
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload, to delegate responsibilities as appropriate and to supervise staff.
CommunicationEssential- Excellent written and spoken English
- Communicate in an empathetic and comprehensible way to patients.
Personal and People DevelopmentEssential- Participates in teaching and instruction to Junior staff
