Job summary
The Cardio-Respiratory Department at Solihull Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and proactive individual to join our friendly and supportive team as a Band 4 Associate Practitioner in Cardiology.

Working alongside a team of experienced Cardiac Physiologists, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality diagnostic cardiology services for both inpatients and outpatients across the hospital.

The post involves preparing, fitting, and analysing ambulatory ECG monitoring devices, including Holter monitors ranging from 24-hour recordings to two-week monitoring periods. You will also be responsible for preparing, fitting, and analysing ambulatory blood pressure monitoring devices, assisting with exercise tolerance tests and head-up tilt testing, and supporting Implantable Loop Recorder (ILR) implant and explant procedures. In addition, you will assist with the review and analysis of ILR data.

The successful candidate will also contribute to the training and development of colleagues, support service improvement initiatives, and undertake a range of administrative duties to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the department.

Qualifications
Essential

• Level 4 apprenticeship in Healthcare Science or appropriate degree and working towards SCST Diploma in ECG Interpretation
• Or
• SCST Diploma in ECG interpretation and relevant cardiology experience at band 3 level.
• Or
• Relevant scientific Degree plus
• Good background knowledge of ECG analysis within a department and the SCST certificate of electrocardiography
• BLS or CLS

Experience
Essential

• Customer service / liaison / patient experience, within a healthcare environment
• Experience in performing ECG's, fitting/removing/downloading ECG Holter and Blood Pressure monitors
• Good knowledge of ECG arrhythmias
• Performing and interpreting resting 12 lead ECG
• 24 hour ambulatory ECG/BP analysis including producing a report
• Assist as 2nd person in ETT
• Experience in the use of PCs and data entry
• ECG Interpretation

Desirable

• Supervisory experience
• Knowledge of some NHS systems
• Assist in RACPC (Rapid access chest pain clinics)
• Remote monitoring/follow up of implantable loop recorders (ILR's)
• Ability to produce factual reports for Holter analysis and ILRs
