Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our MSK out patient team as a static Band 5 Physiotherapy based at Queen's Hospital Burton.

The post holder will work in MSK which involves working in a range of conditions in upper quadrant, lower quadrant and spinal conditions as determined by the needs of the physiotherapy service. This is across the outpatient setting including primary and secondary care referrals for adults and paediatrics.

The post holder will perform physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological condition, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver and individualised treatment programme.

You will be required to work as part of the Respiratory on-call service following an induction programme. The out-patient service runs from Monday through to Friday with varied shift patterns. The service runs to 7pm on three days a week.

Main duties of the job
Opportunities will MSK Outpatients.
  • To assess and treat own patient caseload, and maintain associated records.
  • To perform physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological condition, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.
  • To hold responsibility for own caseload, working without direct supervision. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, case conferences. Access to advice and support from a senior physiotherapist.
  • Job Plan is created to include CPD
  • Support is given with attending courses to support the service

Qualification
Essential
  • Graduate Diploma. Phys or BSc MCSP and SRP
  • HCPC registered

Experience
Essential
  • Post-graduate physiotherapy rotations in NHS experience
  • completed 1 rotation of MSK

Desirable
  • Previous assistant employment

Skills
Essential
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively
  • Evidence of using clinical reasoning & analytical skills
  • Evidence of developing individual treatment plans
  • Evidence of utilising therapeutic handling / manual dexerity
  • Demonstrates ability to work in a team & organisational skills
