We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated, compassionate, and experienced Registered Nurse (Child) to join our Outpatient Department as a Band 6 Clinical Lead Nurse, the post is 37.5hrs per week which will require leadership at the Children's Outpatient Department at Royal Lancaster Infirmary

Main duties of the job
As the Clinical Lead Nurse, you will play a key role in the day-to-day coordination and delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality nursing care across a wide range of outpatient specialties. This is a pivotal leadership role, providing professional support, supervision, and direction to the nursing team while promoting a positive patient experience.

Key duties:

• Have continuing responsibility for the delivery of care needs and maintenance of Clinical Standards on the ward/dept.
• Provide effective leadership and support to all grades of staff, planning and directing activities to provide the optimal standard of care
• Ensure that the ward/dept is clean and provides a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Promote service transformation.
• Participate in Directorate/site management responsibilities.

About us
We operate from two main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow and the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI),

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies,daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Education and Qualifications
Essential

• 1st level registered nurse (child)
• Mentoring / assessing qualification or experience

Desirable

• Recent leadership development or willingness to work towards a leadership qualification.
• Post registration qualification

Experience
Essential

• Recent relevant experience at senior level
• Evidence of clinical competence
• Able to assume a lead clinical role as appropriate
• Understanding of the setting and monitoring of standards
• Evidence of teaching and developing staff
• Able to work as a member of the multidisciplinary clinical team
• Experience in safeguarding children
• 2 years post registration experience

Skills Ability & Knowledge
Essential

• Ability to prioritise and demonstrate time management and organisational skills in managing self and others
• Demonstrate ability to obtain and evaluate information to aid decision making and to develop others in this area
• Ability to manage the care of a wide variety of patient conditions
