Job summaryAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Allied Health Professional to join our Community Therapy Service as a Community Therapy Team Leader.
The successful candidate will provide operational and clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary community therapy team, supporting the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across community settings. Working closely with senior managers and clinical colleagues, you will be responsible for ensuring safe, effective and efficient services that enable patients to maximise independence and achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Main duties of the jobThe Community Therapy Team Leader will:
- Provide day-to-day operational and professional leadership to the community therapy team.
- Lead, motivate and support multidisciplinary staff to deliver high-quality care.
- Ensure effective management of patient flow, caseload allocation and service demand.
- Monitor and improve service performance against key performance indicators and waiting time targets.
- Manage staff recruitment, appraisal, supervision, attendance and performance.
- Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement, learning and innovation.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, clinical governance requirements and safeguarding responsibilities.
- Support workforce planning and service development initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with primary care, social care, acute services and voluntary sector partners.
- Contribute to strategic planning and transformation programmes across community services.
About usWe operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
Our Community Service for adults are provided in people's homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Registered Allied Health Professional (HCPC registered) or Registered Nurse (NMC registered where applicable).
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent professional qualification.
Desirable- Leadership or management qualification.
ExperienceEssential- Significant post-registration experience within community services
- Experience of leading or managing teams.
- Experience of service improvement and change management.
Desirable- Experience working within integrated community services.
SkillsEssential- Knowledge of clinical governance, risk management and safeguarding.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Ability to prioritise competing demands and manage complex situations.
Desirable- Experience of budget management.
- Experience using quality improvement methodologies.
