Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic midwife to join our outpatient maternity team, working in our day assessment unit and also antenatal clinics.

This role offers a dynamic mix of clinical midwifery alongside excellent work life balance.

This is a band 6 midwife role open to experienced midwives who have completed an NHS preceptorship

Main duties of the job
Duties will include but not limited to:

• Antenatal midwifery care
• Taking and following up of laboratory samples
• Antenatal screening tests and referral to screening team/fetal medicine
• Day to day running of obstetric clinics
• Midwife clinics - VBAC and Anti D
• Administrative tasks such as referrals, booking appointments and ultrasound scans
• Opportunities to lead and develop specialist clinics such as Complex maternal medicine and Multiple pregnancies.
• Providing scheduled care in day assessment unit such as CTG monitoring, Pre-op assessments, IV infusions and Obstetric review, supporting our BSOTS Triage system.

About us
We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
