Job summary
The Sussex Cardiac Centre is based in Brighton at the Royal Sussex County Hospital. This is a very exciting time to join the Trust as we are undergoing extensive modernisation and redevelopment. The 3Ts project has transformed the Royal Sussex County site delivering a state-of-the-art environment and services. Our new department is based in the Louisa Martindale Building at the centre of this project. We are a very busy department providing a wide range of investigations. We are looking to recruit a dynamic team member to cover maternity leave for 1 year. The vacancy is within the device and EP team but other specialties will be considered.

This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route. Sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds, and any role-specific criteria. For example, applicants for the Senior HCA role must be able to evidence a minimum of 2 years' experience in the same role to qualify for sponsorship.

If you are applying using a Graduate visa as your right to work, you must have a minimum of 18 months remaining on your visa at time of application.

Main duties of the job
The Echocardiography department provides routine TTE outpatient and inpatient service. More specialised services include 3D, Dobutamine Stress Echo, Exercise Echo, Contrast, Bubble, Adult Congenital and Heart Failure screening. The TOE service delivers support to the complex structural interventions in the Cath lab as well as all clinical lists. The department is actively involved in Research studies involving TAVI, ASD and PFO closures. As a BSE accredited Department since 2008, we have weekly review and monthly teaching meetings attended by one or more Consultants, Registrars, Cardiac Physiologists and junior staff.

The busy multidisciplinary team within the Cardiac Catheter Labs provides complex structural intervention, complex EP (VT and AF ablation) and PCI. The continually expanding device service has developed to support all the latest technology as well as a rapidly growing virtual follow-up clinic. All complex devices are implanted at the centre, including CRT and ICDs. The centre benefits from a Physiologist Led ILR Implant and Explant service and has been a pioneer within this field.
