Job summary
We are seeking a motivated doctor to lead the development and rollout of an electronic portfolio for locally employed doctors (LEDs) and advanced practitioners.

About the Role
  • Develop a structured portfolio to support training, supervision, and career progression
  • Design competency frameworks, assessments, and reflective tools
  • Support LEDs and international medical graduates (IMGs) with equitable access to development
  • Work with clinical and education teams to drive engagement and improve training quality
  • Align the portfolio with workforce priorities, retention, and future consultant development

Person Specification
Experience/ Qualifications
Essential
  • Basic medical degree
  • Eligible to enter ST3+
  • training in chosen specialty
  • Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice
  • Breadth of experience in appraisal and medical education e.g. training and supervision of doctors, students and other healthcare professionals
  • Knowledge of assessment methods
  • Experience as a representative
  • Proven ability to contribute to effective multidisciplinary teams Positive attitude towards multiprofessional working
  • Experience of teaching & training, including medical trainees, students of all healthcare disciplines and allied health professionals

Desirable
  • Postgraduate medical education, leadership or management qualification (PGCert, Diploma, Masters)
  • Experience in leadership or management within a formal role or as part of a team in related activity
  • Team or service-based quality improvement work as a project or part of a programme

Communication
Desirable
  • Presentations at local, regional and national conferences
  • Publications in local, national and international journals and other non-peer reviewed work

People Management and Development
Essential
  • Evidence of understanding of management of change
  • Ability to manage risk and change
  • Evidence of good organisational and leadership skills

Desirable
  • Evidence of contribution to service development

Other Requirements
Essential
  • Seek to tackle health care inequality and diversity challenges in the NHS

  • Ability to take responsibility for own professional actions
