Pharmacy Preparation Operative
We are looking to hire a Pharmacy Preparation Operative to play a key role in preparing medications into the correct packaging, ensuring our pharmacy team has everything they need for efficient dispensing. You will report to the Preparation Manager.

This is an ideal role for someone who is detail oriented, comfortable working with machinery, and takes pride in supporting a high quality pharmaceutical operation. If you are organised, safety conscious, and want to contribute to a growing healthcare team, this role is for you!

What you’ll be doing

• Preparing medications into the correct packaging prior to dispensing, strictly following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
• Operating and maintaining automated preparation machinery to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Ensuring the accuracy of product selection and labelling at every stage of the preparation process.
• Keeping the preparation area clean, organised, and fully compliant with pharmacy regulations at all times.
• Supporting stock management tasks, including the organisation of packaging and preparation supplies.
• Unboxing large quantities of medication, preparing, and repackaging
• Collaborating with the wider pharmacy team to ensure all operational targets are met.
• Take full responsibility for the accuracy and success of the preparation tasks assigned to you, ensuring all outputs meet our quality and safety standards.

Avoiding Cross-Contamination

• Thoroughly clean and wipe down preparation machinery and equipment with alcohol wipes after processing each batch.
• Always wear gloves when handling loose tablets or performing de-blistering. Maintain strict hygiene practices and keep working surfaces clean to ensure product integrity.
• Ensure batches are kept separate and avoid mixing batch numbers during any part of the preparation process.

What we need from you

• An exceptional eye for detail with a commitment to accuracy and patient safety.
• Previous experience working in a pharmacy or a production/manufacturing environment is desirable.
• Comfortable working with automated machinery and new technology.
• The ability to work confidently to strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, including rotating between different workstations throughout the day to meet changing operational priorities.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working within a team.

Our interview process

• An initial screening call.
• An onsite 2-hour trial and interview with the Preparation Manager and/or the Pharmacy Operations Lead.
