Description

High Intensity CBT Therapist - Part Time
Company: We Are With You
Job ID: B0236-26-0287

Job summary
Join our team as a High Intensity CBT Therapist in Scunthorpe on a part time basis. As a High Intensity Therapist (CBT), you'll play a key role in supporting people experiencing common mental health difficulties alongside drug and alcohol use. Using evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), you'll help people develop the skills and confidence to improve their mental wellbeing and achieve meaningful recovery.
Main duties of the job
As a High Intensity CBT Therapist, you will:
  • Deliver evidence-based High Intensity CBT interventions to adults accessing our drug and alcohol services in Scunthorpe.
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments, develop formulations and create collaborative treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Manage your own caseload, ensuring safe, effective and timely delivery of therapy.
  • Assess and manage clinical risk within your scope of practice, working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless care and appropriate referrals.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records in line with professional, organisational and information governance standards.
  • Participate in regular clinical supervision, continuing professional development and service evaluation activities.
  • Support service development through clinical audits, outcome monitoring and sharing best practice.
  • Promote equality, diversity and inclusion while delivering trauma-informed, recovery-focused care.
  • Safeguard children and adults by following WithYou policies and procedures at all times.
  • Support our Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner with regular case management and clinical supervision.

As a leading charity supporting people with drug, alcohol, and mental health challenges, we operate over 80 services across England and Scotland, providing free and confidential support to more than 100,000 people each year. WithYou is all about working with our clients to find the right path for them to get to where they want to be, and you will be joining an amazing team of people who go the extra mile to make that happen. Working within one of our services is always busy, sometimes challenging, but always rewarding. We work collaboratively to provide the best support and treatment to anyone who needs it and we'd welcome your application to join our Scunthorpe service.
Essential Skills
To be successful in this role you will be a qualified High Intensity CBT Therapist with a passion for delivering high quality psychological therapies to people experiencing mental health difficulties alongside substance use. You'll also have:
  • A Postgraduate Diploma in High Intensity CBT, or an equivalent recognised professional qualification with postgraduate CBT training.
  • BABCP accreditation, or be working towards accreditation within an agreed timeframe.
  • Significant experience delivering evidence-based psychological therapies to adults with common mental health difficulties.
  • Experience completing comprehensive psychological assessments, risk assessments and routine outcome monitoring.
  • A strong understanding of anxiety, depression and how mental health difficulties can present alongside drug and alcohol use.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build therapeutic relationships with people experiencing significant distress.
  • Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and alongside external partner organisations.
  • The ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritise effectively and maintain accurate clinical records.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and delivering trauma-informed, person-centred care.
  • A proactive approach to learning, reflective practice and continuous professional development.

Ideally you will also have a recognised qualification in clinical supervision - this is a desirable criteria not essential.
We're looking for a compassionate and motivated individual, with an exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships. You will have demonstrable experience working within the health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting, or a clear motivation for wanting to work in the drug and alcohol sector. A successful track record of providing efficient and reliable customer service is essential.
You will be highly organised, have excellent communication skills, and be able to manage your time effectively. You will work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure a high-quality service is maintained. Above all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about what we do and has a positive and engaging approach to our clients and key stakeholders.
