Description

Job summary
We are excited to invite applications for a full-time SAS Doctor (Psychiatry) to join our Hounslow Central MINT team, funded through our local transformation program. In this role you will bring specialist psychiatric skills to a PCN-based, multidisciplinary community mental health service -- working alongside a dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist in each Primary Care Network and forging close partnerships with GPs. Our Hounslow model adopts a whole-person, whole-population approach: integrating health and social care, collaborating with VCSE organisations and local community groups, and drawing on all available resources to support mental wellbeing both within and beyond traditional NHS services.

Main duties of the job
  • Being an integral part of an enthusiastic multi-disciplinary community team. Learning to work with team members in appropriate decision making, risk management and care planning in line with new ways of working in the NHS
  • Developing close liaison with all sector teams and Consultants and becoming skilled at maintaining good working relationships.
  • Developing skills in working with the wider social system of patients, using techniques from various therapies and family therapy
  • Ability to work flexibly and to adapt practice to changing service models, rather than traditional work patterns.
