We are looking for an additional GP Partner to join our well-established and friendly, training practice.

Main duties of the job
Main duties typically include:

• Clinical care: Diagnose, treat and manage patients, including chronic disease and urgent presentations.
• Patient safety and quality: Maintain high clinical standards, safeguarding, infection control and effective clinical governance.
• Practice management: Help oversee staffing, premises, finances, contracts and day-to-day operations.
• NHS contractual responsibilities: Ensure the practice meets its obligations under the PMS contract and relevant NHS requirements.
• Leadership: Work with other partners and practice staff on strategy, service development and workforce planning.
• Financial responsibility: Share responsibility for practice income, expenditure, business decisions and, depending on the partnership agreement, liabilities.
• Regulatory compliance: Support compliance with CQC, GMC and other relevant professional and legal requirements.
• Team and system working: Collaborate with PCNs, community services, hospitals and other local healthcare organisations.

• No need to buy-into the building.
• Comprises of current HEE Enfield and Haringey VTS Programme Directors, GP Educators, GP Appraisers, GP Mentors, LMC Members, PCN Clinical Directors and Clinical Leads.
• Supportive of team members development in various roles.

Job responsibilities
Job Purpose

To provide high-quality, patient-centred general medical services while contributing to the clinical leadership, strategic development and effective management of the GP practice.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective and evidence-based clinical care to registered patients, including diagnosis, treatment, prescribing and management of acute and chronic conditions.
• Undertake appropriate clinical administration, including referrals, results, correspondence, clinical coding and documentation.
• Participate in clinical governance, significant event reviews, audits, safeguarding and quality improvement.
• Contribute to practice strategy, service development, workforce planning and business decisions.
• Share responsibility for the financial and operational management of the practice in accordance with the partnership agreement.
• Support the recruitment, supervision, development and wellbeing of practice staff.
• Ensure compliance with relevant NHS contractual requirements, CQC standards, GMC guidance and applicable legislation.
• Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, Primary Care Network and local health and social care services.
• Participate in practice meetings and contribute to effective communication and decision-making between partners and staff.
• Maintain professional development, appraisal and revalidation requirements.

Person Specification
Essential

• GMC registration and inclusion on the NHS England Performers List.
• MRCGP or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years experience working as a General Practitioner.
• Commitment to patient-centred care and clinical governance.
• Good communication, leadership and teamwork skills.
• Understanding of the responsibilities associated with GP partnership.
• Undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as required by the GP Partners, consistent with the role and the needs of the practice.

Desirable

• Previous experience of practice leadership or management.
• Interest in, or experience of, a clinical leadership area.
• Experience of quality improvement, service development or Primary Care Network (PCN) working.
