The paediatric SALT team at Wye Valley NHS Trust is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and committed Speech and Language Therapist. You will join a friendly & highly committed team of therapists & therapy assistants delivering support to children across rural Herefordshire. Ideally, you will have some knowledge & experience of working with children who present with DLD/ significant & complex speech and language difficulties.
We are looking to recruit a Band 6, full time position (part time applications considered)
note: this post would be considered as a developmental role, therefore there is an opportunity for an experienced B5 to work towards a B6 within a set time frame.
The role would include working with pre-school children with significantly delayed/disordered speech and language & supporting children, most with an EHCP, within mainstream schools as part of a school based team.

Main duties of the jobProvide assessment and therapy for pre-school and school age children with a wide range of speech, language and communication difficulties. Write concise notes, reports and programmes for children in order for family and education staff to support ongoing needs.
Support initiatives within the SALT service to maintain timely waiting lists and waits for therapy intervention.
Engage in and be pro-active in CPD activities in order to continually provide evidence based practice and intervention.
Support the team to continue its transformation journey to deliver an equitable and supportive service across the whole County.
