Weston Hospicecare delivers expert palliative care to people with life-limiting illnesses across Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset and Sedgemoor. Established in 1989, the charity provides free physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual support through a 10 bed inpatient unit, day hospice and community nursing team based at Jackson-Barstow House. The multi-disciplined team treats patients with cancer, motor neurone disease, Parkinson's and other life-limiting conditions. Working with GPs and healthcare professionals, the hospice ensures patients receive comfort and dignity while families get support. With only 20% of funding from government, the charity relies on local supporters and volunteers to continue delivering free care.
