Main duties of the jobWe are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, computer literate Practice Nurse with a minimum of 2-3 years experience of working in General Practice. Applicants need to possess the relevant skills and qualifications in the following areas:
- Respiratory,
- Wound Management,
- Cervical Cytology,
- Childhood Immunisations,
- Travel Immunisations,
- Venepuncture.

Job responsibilitiesThe successful candidate will provide a comprehensive range of nursing services to our patient population and play a key role in the ongoing delivery of chronic disease management and preventative healthcare.
The role will include, but is not limited to:
- Chronic disease management, including respiratory conditions (asthma and COPD), diabetes, cardiovascular disease and hypertension.
- Respiratory reviews, inhaler technique assessments and patient education.
- Cervical cytology
- Contraception
- Immunisations and vaccinations.
- Wound care and dressings.
- General Practice Nurse treatment room duties.
- Venepuncture and ECGs.
Lifestyle advice and health promotion.
- Infection prevention and control responsibilities.
Participation in quality improvement initiatives and QOF achievement
Person SpecificationExperienceEssential- Has minimum 2-3 years experience worked in General Practice.
- Chronic disease management experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Great team player.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Proficient in General Practice Nurse treatment room duties.
Desirable- Chronic disease diplomas or relevant specialist qualifications.
- Experience using EMIS Web.
- Experience with Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF).
- Experience supporting HCAs or junior staff.
