Job summaryWe are looking for enthusiastic registered CT Radiographers to work in close conjunction with the CT Operational Lead Radiographers, CT Modality Lead and the wider team at our CT unit at Mile End Hospital which is part of the new Community Diagnostics Centre and the existing Early Diagnosis Centre.
Potential candidates should preferably have at least two years' experience of working within CT and have at least 2 years of post-qualifying experience. Excellent communication and computer skills are essential.
You will be working on a rota basis within the CT team covering 12-hour days, 08:00-20:00, Monday to Sunday.
We will be providing a service to a wide range of cancer, urgent, rheumatology and routine outpatients across North-East of London. In this role, it is essential to have good organisational skills, good working relationships and be motivated and able to demonstrate how you can motivate others within the team.

Main duties of the jobThe post-holder will participate in the effective running of the CT department under the direction of the senior staff, ensuring delivery of high quality patient care. In liaison with the senior radiographers the post holder will provide supervision of junior staff, students and assistant practitioners.
The centre is equipped with a GE Revolution Evo and Siemens Somatom go.Top Mobile CT scanner. We also have access to the state-of-the-art photon-counting Siemens Naeotom Alpha CT scanner providing advanced spectral imaging capabilities. In addition, we are excitedly preparing to begin using the Fujifilm Cone Beam CT scanner to support our ENT services across the Trust and from the community.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- BSc Radiography or DCR
- Current Health and Care Professions Council registration
- IV cannulations- or willingness to achieve this skill in house
Desirable- Radiation Protection Supervisor experience
- Post Graduate qualification in CT (or willing to undertake this)
- CT Colon training (or willingness to undertake this)
ExperienceEssential- Band 6 Radiographer in general and specialised Imaging procedures including CT
- Post qualification experience
- Evidence of CPD, including attendance at relevant short course & study days
- Participation in Quality Assurance / Clinical Governance initiatives.
Desirable- Participation in the recruitment and selection process of Band 3 staff
KnowledgeEssential- Portfolio of evidence of continuing professional development
- Understanding of Clinical Governance and Health and Safety
Desirable- Awareness of new developments in CT
- Some knowledge of wider NHS issues
