Job summary
We are looking for motivated and versatile team players to join our cross-site Band 5 Physiotherapy Rotations scheme.

The role is full-time and includes participation in the Respiratory On-Call rota and weekend working. The ideal candidate will have a passion for physiotherapy; excellent communication skills and plenty of enthusiasm.

We have vacancies on our Band 5 Physiotherapist rotations for individuals who:
Hold a degree in Physiotherapy
Registration through the Health Care Professions Council

Please note that if you are a current student and will graduate within 3 months of the closing date you must include the date you will graduate in your application to be shortlisted.

You will rotate across all sites including the Royal London Hospital, Whipps Cross University Hospital, Newham University Hospital & St Bartholomew's Hospital. The London allowance is based on rotation location - WXH and NUH - outer London & SBH and RLH - inner London, you will be alternate between inner and outer London weighting at rotation time.

Interviews take place face to face in late July/early August 2026 & will include practical, interview and a written elements.

Main duties of the job
  • To work in a diverse multicultural environment and refine and develop experience across specialist physiotherapy areas and rotations in the Trust on a six monthly rotation.
  • To deliver specialised physiotherapeutic intervention to patients using highly developed skills in assessment and treatment of patients. This includes the delivery of exercise programmes and giving advice, information and emotional support to patients and carers in a wide variety of settings.
  • To participate in the rotation scheme, which involves working across the Trust, over six sites in a range of ward settings, outpatient departments and in the patient's own home.
  • To contribute to the development of evidence based practice and clinical effectiveness during each rotation.
  • To participate in the emergency and on call rota across the Trust
  • The post holder will provide support and teaching/training to students on placement or newly rotated staff.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
  • UK recognised qualification in Physiotherapy at degree level or above
  • HCPC Registration

Desirable
  • Member of CSP

Experience
Essential
  • Student placements in core areas of physiotherapy
  • Student experience across acute, outpatient or community settings
  • Experience of using research and other evidence to inform practice

Desirable
  • Experience of working as a qualified therapist
  • Experience of working in a diverse multi-cultural environment

Knowledge
Essential
  • Understanding of clinical governance
  • Has an understanding of professional issues and NHS developments
  • Knowledge of service improvement and QI methodology

Desirable
  • Experience of audit or quality improvement

Skills
Essential
  • Able to demonstrate excellent verbal and non-verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to demonstrate clinical reasoning skills in assessing and treating patients
  • Able to demonstrate time management skills

Other
Essential
  • Understanding of the different roles of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and how physiotherapy fits in with this model
  • Experience of working in stressful environments and understanding of strategies to manage this
