Job summary
The primary role of this post will be to implement new initiatives in the diversity workstream recently developed in the service to improve inclusion and reduce health inequalities. The main tasks may include conducting service evaluation and/or QI projects; developing cultural appropriate and sensitive information booklets; engaging with diverse communities; and liaising with other services to share experiences, etc. Alongside the focus on diversity work, the postholder will also involve in clinical work, providing manual-based cognitive behavioural interventions such as CBT-T, guided self-help and e-learning packages according to levels of skills and experience, and taking part in the facilitation of the group programme including planning and running of therapeutic groups. There will also be opportunities to participate in research and audit activities and to support teaching and training programmes within the service. Being allied to the multi-disciplinary team in the Eating Disorders Service, the post holder will act as a member of the team, attend meetings and contribute to informing patients' psychological care within the team.

Main duties of the job
Under the supervision of a qualified and suitably experienced psychologist:

• To implement initiatives in the diversity workstream recently developed in the service to improve inclusion and reduce health inequalities.
• To participate in working group(s) associated with diversity and inclusion.
• To work alongside Experts by Experience in co-produced initiatives.
• To take part in the facilitation of the group programme, including planning and running of therapeutic groups
• To provide manual-based cognitive behavioural interventions such as guided self-help and e-learning packages
• To involve in short-term and discrete individual work with client as appropriate, according to levels of skills and experience.
• To attend clinical reviews and other multi-disciplinary meetings
• To attend regular individual clinical supervision
• To undertake specific duties as appointed pertaining to service governance objectives including planning, data collection and analysis, report writing and presentation. This will necessitate the substantive use of IT equipment and software.
• To undertake/contribute to teaching, training, health promotion research and related activities of the service.

Qualifications
Essential

• An upper second class (2:1) honours degree or higher in psychology and entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society

Desirable

• Further post graduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice and/or research design and analysis.

Experience
Essential

• Experience in working with people with mental health problems and/or other disabilities
• Experience in working with clients from diverse ethnic backgrounds

Desirable

• Experience of delivering presentations or teaching others
• Experience in involving in service delivery initiatives specifically in relation to diversity and inclusion

Skills
Essential

• High level communication skills (written and verbal) including an ability to communicate and work in settings in which the atmosphere may be highly emotive.
• High competence with IT equipment and software packages such as MS Office
• Ability to keep professional boundaries and reflect on own role within therapeutic relationships

Personal
Essential

• An ability to interact effectively with staff from all disciplines.
• Ability to work independently, reliably and consistently with work agreed and managed at regular intervals.
• Ability to accept and use supervision appropriately and effectively.

Desirable

• An interest in working with individuals with eating disorders.
