The Digital Midwife is a senior clinical and digital leadership role responsible for supporting, optimising and assuring the safe use of the maternity electronic patient record and associated digital systems. The post holder will work autonomously within Trust policy, national and local guidance, and professional standards to ensure digital solutions enhance clinical safety, quality, and women's experience of maternity care.

Person SpecificationEducation and QualificationEssential- Registered Midwife with current NMC registration
- Degree in midwifery or similar
- Evidence of supporting learners in practice
- Evidence of continual professional development
Desirable- Evidence of post graduate study
- Professional Midwifery Advocate
Experience and KnowledgeEssential- Minimum three years' experience as a qualified midwife.
- Experience of working in and having a broad range of clinical midwifery experience
- Experience of working with healthcare administration IT systems
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary / multiagency team
- Detailed knowledge of current midwifery practices and safeguarding guidance and recommendations
Desirable- Evidence of implementation of innovation, service change and development. Including Audit
- Experience undertaking and presenting audits
- Experience in teaching
- Knowledge or experience of Badgernet Maternity system
Skills and AbilityEssential- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management
- Be flexible and adaptable to the needs of the service.
Desirable- Knowledge of clinical audit evidenced based practice and research.
- Project management qualification or relevant experience
