Blatchford Clinic is a private prosthetic and orthotic clinical service provider. Most of our clients have undergone complex trauma resulting in life changing injuries. Our aim is to provide a high level of service combined with the most advanced devices to restore our clients, as far as possible, to their pre-injury level of mobility. Working closely with legal professionals, case managers and insurers we provide expert witness services, initial needs assessments and bespoke treatment packages.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced
Orthotist to join the Blatchford Clinic team at our Sheffield site.
As
Orthotist, you will provide a high standard of Clinical Orthotic Care to all patients, actively promote the service and liaise with case managers and other referrers.
The roleKey duties:
- Providing professional Orthotic Services to a variety of clients as referred to the private service.
- Leading in the development of the advanced orthotic service for microprocessor controlled and high-end devices.
- Interpreting and analysing clinical and non-clinical facts to form prognoses in a wide range of complex conditions and recommend the best course of intervention.
- Undertaking comprehensive examination and assessment of clients of all ages, including those with a complex presentation
- Formulating individualised management plans and programmes of care.
- Developing a professional relationship with the client and their referrer/support for effective communication.
- Providing counselling, advice, and support as necessary to maximise rehabilitation potential and to ensure understanding of condition.
- Assessing, measuring, casting, fitting, supplying, reviewing, and adjusting orthoses as required.
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team as required to ensure the most appropriate and effective treatment for patients.
- Represent the clinic at national conferences and events supporting the clinic manager.
- May need to travel to other sites occasionally for support.
What are we looking for?Key skills:
- Degree qualified in Prosthetics and Orthotics, or equivalent.
- HCPC registration
- BAPO or ISPO (desirable).
- Experience of working with adults and children within Orthotics
- Demonstrated sound knowledge of Orthotics.
- Customer focused.
- Commercially aware
- Flexible
- Ability to plan and prioritise workload.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full UK drivers’ licence
