Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, resilient, and flexible Salaried GP to join our friendly and highly supportive team for a minimum of 5 sessions per week.
As a well-established training practice, we are committed to supporting the professional development of all our clinicians. We are continually striving to improve the way we deliver patient care, both within the practice and across our Primary Care Network (PCN). Our dedicated administrative team and efficient systems help minimise clinicians' administrative workload, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality patient care.

Salary
BMA contract and competitive salary, dependent on experience.

Main duties of the job
The Salaried GP will work as an autonomous medical practitioner, providing high-quality, patient-centred primary care services to the registered practice population in accordance with the terms of their contract.
You will be responsible for delivering safe, effective and evidence-based clinical care, maintaining the highest standards of professional practice in line with the GMC standards and relevant national and local policies.
You will contribute to the effective clinical and organisational management of the practice, working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to promote continuous quality improvement and excellent patient outcomes. The post holder will also support, mentor and supervise other healthcare professionals, where appropriate, and play an integral role in the education and development of the wider primary care team.

Our multidisciplinary team includes GP Partners, Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Practice Pharmacist, Practice Nurse, Senior Healthcare Assistant, GP Assistant, Practice Manager, Office Manager, Management Support Officer, Senior Administrator, Medical Secretary and 6 Receptionists
Through our Primary Care Network, we also work closely with a wider multidisciplinary team, including Salaried GP, Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Urgent Care Practitioner, Mental Health Practitioner, Support Time Recovery Worker, Social Prescriber and First Contact Physiotherapists

Job responsibilities
In accordance with the agreed practice timetable, the Salaried GP will undertake a range of clinical duties, including but not limited to:
  • Provide face-to-face, telephone and video consultations, together with home visits and care home visits where clinically appropriate.
  • Assess, diagnose, investigate, treat and manage patients presenting with acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Make independent, professional clinical decisions for patients presenting through self-referral or referral from other healthcare professionals.
  • Initiate appropriate investigations, interpret and act upon clinical results, and arrange referrals to secondary care or other healthcare providers as required.
  • Develop, implement and review individualised care and treatment plans in partnership with patients, in accordance with practice protocols, NICE guidance and current evidence-based practice.
  • Identify patients at risk of developing long-term conditions and undertake appropriate screening, prevention and health promotion activities.
  • Ensure appropriate follow-up, continuity of care and effective management of patients throughout their care pathway.
  • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous and comprehensive electronic clinical records in accordance with professional, legal and practice standards.
  • Review, authorise and sign repeat prescriptions, ensuring prescribing is safe, evidence-based, cost-effective and in accordance with local formularies, NICE guidance, the British National Formulary (BNF) and Good Prescribing Practice.
  • Process clinical correspondence, laboratory results, reports and other administrative tasks promptly and appropriately, ensuring timely communication of any required actions

Person Specification
Experience
Essential
  • Ability to both work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience of working in a primary care environment
  • Experience of providing home visits
  • General understanding of the primary care contract
  • Proven ability to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of own clinical practice

Qualifications
Essential
  • Qualified GP
  • MRCGP
  • Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
  • Full GMC registration
  • Performers List registration
