Job summaryBristol as the Haemoglobinopathy Coordinating Centre (HCC) for the Southwest region provides and coordinates specialist care and advice to adults, children and families with Sickle cell, Thalassaemia and Rare inherited anaemias. We are seeking a highly motivated, proactive and compassionate individual or individuals to provide educational opportunities to all staffing groups involved in the care of individuals with a haemoglobinopathy disorder. The post holder/holders will work independently and lead on forging engagement of other Trusts within the network to ensure that all local teams and services are aware of the resources available through the HCC. As part of the role the focus will be to provide evidenced based and best practice education and learning, develop training materials and support the network in providing haemoglobinopathy education and training. The post holder/holders will work closely with the service manager to organise, develop the agenda and participate in the delivery monthly SW HCC MDT teaching sessions and the yearly haemoglobinopathy education study day.
The working time in post will be split 50:50 between developing and delivering adult and paediatric educational resources. The post will therefore suit a single applicant with adult and/or paediatric experience or could be divided between two applicants - one with adult and one with paediatric experience
