Team Lead Therapeutic Radiographer - Pre-treatmentJob summaryWe are looking for an experienced and highly motivated therapeutic radiographer to work within our Pre-treatment Department within Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre.
This radiographer will have an excellent technical background and pre-treatment experience including scanning, Vsim and mould room. The ideal candidate will have experience of leading a team, enjoy working as part of a team and will have exemplary communication skills and be able to put patients at ease.
You will be expected to disseminate knowledge to patients, peers, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
You should have a wide range of radiotherapy experience and possess excellent time management and organisational abilities.
All staff are involved in the development of the service and we actively encourage continual professional development.
Main duties of the job- To ensure accurate planning of Radiotherapy treatments as requested, with appropriate care of the patient - both adult and paediatric
- To be responsible for the clinical work of pre-treatment (CT Scanners, VSim, and Mould room), and using appropriate planning and time management techniques, develop standards of care and technical expertise of self and team.
- Use expert knowledge to identify gaps in the evidence base, making a critical analysis of new evidence and its relevance, and contribute to this evidence base by participating in high quality audit and research programmes.
- To use highly developed communication skills to support patients and carers in informed decision making about their care
- To manage the clinical workload of the pre-treatment department in a way which maximises best use of resources, prioritising and streamlining activities to ensure both patient and service needs are met.
