Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Higher (ST3-5) in Stroke to cover a period of Maternity Leave, to commence asap until 04 May 2027.

Main duties of the job
The clinical duties of this post will involve rotation through the different components of Stroke Care including:
  • Management of Acute Stroke Unit (R2 Ward) Hyperacute assessment and care of acute admissions in A & E including assessment for and administration of Thrombolysis.
  • Stroke Rehabilitation ward - Lewin Rehab ward - which is adjacent to the Acute Stroke Unit.
  • Participation in the Neurovascular clinic(s).
  • Opportunity to attend specialist Stroke clinics.

About us
The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). Non-UK applicants must possess the IELTS/OET exam before obtaining a GMC licence to practice.

Person Specification
Essential
  • MRCP or equivalent qualification
  • Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the GMC (at time of application)
  • Completion of a Core Medical/ Acute Care/ Core Programme for Specialty Training Programme or equivalent
  • Logbook indicating validated experience of appropriate range and number of clinical procedures

Desirable
  • ALS Course
  • Previous experience in Neurology / Stroke Medicine
  • Experience of Stroke Thrombolysis
