We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated anaesthetists to join our team as Clinical Fellows in Neuroanaesthesia, within the Department of Neuroanaesthesia and Neurocritical Care.

The Fellowship is designed to support your clinical and professional development, posts available for 6 to 12 months and the option of a dedicated 3-month block in Neurocritical Care. The 1-year fellowship programme is internationally accredited by the International Council on Perioperative Neuroscience Training (ICPNT). Our training experience is aligned with the Royal College of Anaesthetists' (RCoA) curriculum, and we support candidates pursuing the portfolio pathway to specialist registration with the GMC.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary specialist team caring for patients undergoing complex neurosurgical and neuroradiological procedures, as well as critically ill neurological patients. Fellows are also encouraged to contribute to quality improvement, teaching, and research and innovation programmes within the department and wider institution.

This Fellowship is ideally suited for anaesthetists with prior experience in neuroanaesthesia who have completed Stage 2 training (or equivalent) as set by the RCoA and are looking to develop advanced clinical expertise in perioperative neuroscience. Main duties of the job
Clinical Fellows are integral to the delivery of the anaesthetic services, and work as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team caring for patients undergoing complex neurosurgical and neuroradiological procedures. You will provide high-quality perioperative care, adhering to best practice, for patients undergoing both elective and emergency complex neurosurgical and neuroradiological procedures, as well as contributing to the management of patients admitted to the Neurocritical Care Unit adhering to.

The role also includes participation in the resident on-call rota covering both emergency theatres and neurocritical care. Fellows will perform the same duties as other resident doctors within the department, offering excellent exposure to perioperative neuroscience, with opportunities to gain experience in advanced anaesthetic and critical care techniques. Strong communication, professionalism, and a team-focused attitude are essential.
