This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established rural practice serving the local community of Camelford and the surrounding areas of North Cornwall.

We are looking for a GP who is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and who values continuity, teamwork and the traditional strengths of general practice. Applications are welcomed from both experienced GPs and those who have recently completed their training.

The successful candidate will join our experienced and dedicated team which includes a GP Partner, Managing Partner, two Salaried GPs and a skilled multidisciplinary support team, all working together to deliver safe, compassionate and effective care.

We offer a supportive working environment, a manageable list size, flexibility where possible, and an excellent opportunity to develop professional interests whilst maintaining a healthy worklife balance in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will provide high-quality, patient-centred primary medical services to our registered population of approximately 6,700 patients. The role includes undertaking face-to-face, telephone and online consultations; assessing, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions; reviewing clinical correspondence and investigation results; prescribing safely in accordance with current guidance; promoting preventative healthcare and continuity of care; maintaining accurate clinical records using EMIS; and working collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver safe, effective and compassionate care.

The exact working pattern and sessional commitment can be agreed with the successful candidate.

About us
Camelford Medical Centre is a welcoming and community-focused GP practice located in the historic market town of Camelford, close to the spectacular North Cornwall coastline, Bodmin Moor and many of Cornwall's most attractive rural and coastal communities.

We provide high-quality primary care services to a registered population of approximately 6,700 patients. Our experienced and dedicated team includes a GP Partner, Managing Partner, two Salaried GPs, Paramedic Practitioner, Lead Nurse, three Practice Nurses, two HCAs, and a skilled admin support team, all working together to deliver safe, compassionate and effective care.

As a smaller practice, we pride ourselves on knowing our patients well and maintaining continuity of care wherever possible. We value open communication, mutual support and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. Staff wellbeing is important to us, and we strive to create an environment in which clinicians can enjoy the rewards of general practice whilst developing professionally.

Working at Camelford Medical Centre offers the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients and colleagues while enjoying the exceptional quality of life that Cornwall has to offer.
