We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse or Midwife to join Care Fertility London as Deputy Nursing and Clinical Professionals Manager on a 12-month fixed-term basis covering maternity leave. Working closely with the Nursing and Clinical Professionals Manager and wider leadership team, you will support the day-to-day leadership, coordination and development of nursing and clinical professional teams, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate patient care. The successful candidate will deputise for the Nursing and Clinical Professionals Manager in their absence and play a key role in supporting service delivery, clinical governance, workforce development and continuous improvement initiatives across the clinic.
Main duties of the job- Support the operational management of clinical areas including theatre and recovery services.
- Deputise for the Nursing and Clinical Professionals Manager as required.
- Support workforce planning, rota management and safe staffing.
- Provide leadership, supervision, coaching and performance management for clinical teams.
- Deliver high-quality patient-centred care throughout the fertility treatment journey.
- Contribute to clinical governance, audit, risk management and patient safety activities.
- Ensure compliance with HFEA, CQC, NMC and organisational standards.
- Support service improvement, innovation and quality improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure effective use of digital systems.
- Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota.
- Support learning, development and mentorship activities across the clinical workforce.

Job responsibilitiesThe Deputy Nursing and Clinical Professionals Manager supports the Nursing and Clinical Professionals Manager in the operational leadership, coordination and development of the nursing and clinical professional teams at Care Fertility London. Acting as a senior clinical leader, the post holder will help ensure the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate patient care, while maintaining compliance with professional, regulatory and governance standards. The role includes deputising for the Manager in their absence, supporting workforce management, clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives and service development activities. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to enhance patient experience, promote continuous improvement and foster a positive, high-performing culture aligned with Care Fertility's values of Compassion, Collaboration and Expertise. Participation in clinical duties and the out-of-hours on-call rota is required.
Person SpecificationExperienceEssential- Significant post-registration clinical experience.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a healthcare environment.
- Experience of managing or supervising clinical teams.
- Experience of service improvement or quality improvement initiatives.
- Experience of workforce planning and rota management.
- Experience supporting staff development, supervision or training.
- Experience managing sensitive or complex patient situations.
Desirable- Experience within fertility, reproductive medicine or women's health.
- Experience of Datix or similar incident reporting systems.
- Experience supporting audits, inspections or accreditation processes.
- Experience contributing to organisational projects.
- Experience developing and delivering training programmes.
QualificationsEssential- Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife with current NMC registration.
- Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Up-to-date mandatory training relevant to clinical practice.
- Competent in delivering safe clinical care within a regulated healthcare setting.
Desirable- Postgraduate qualification in leadership, management, quality improvement or clinical specialty.
- Teaching, mentorship or practice assessor qualification.
- Training or qualification in fertility, reproductive health or women's health.
- Formal training in audit, governance or risk management.
