The establishment is home to Test & Evaluation squadrons, the Southampton University Air Squadron (SUAS), and the Empire Test Pilots School (ETPS). Working alongside the QinetiQ Fire & Rescue Service, Care Plus Group delivers the Pre-Hospital Emergency & Urgent Care service for the establishment.

Salary Range 5 £30,805 - £35,715 Fixed point. Pro rata per annum.
We are looking for an Emergency Medical Technician to join our team at Boscombe Down MOD. The team provide emergency and front line response to the MOD Base which has frequent aircraft activity as well as about 1500 military personnel and civilians.
You must be a qualified Technician with experience of working with ambulance response, in return you will have access to training and support, be provided with equipment.
Working as part of an emergency medical response team at a military establishment providing both airfield and domestic cover, the post holder will support the full-time staff, as well as providing cover for ad-hoc Out-Of-Hours flying on nights and weekends. Providing emergency triage, assessment, treatment, and onward referral/transfer/discharge of casualties.
You will be required to undertake duties including vehicle and equipment checks, participating in training, responding to airfield and domestic emergencies, driving ambulance vehicles under normal and emergency road conditions, and operating in-line with current policies, procedures and guidelines.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- IHCD Ambulance Aid / FREC 5 / Associate Ambulance Practitioner
- Minimum of GCSE English & Maths / Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Full valid UK driving license (no more than 6 penalty points)
- Emergency driving qualification (IHCD/CERAD/ROSPA or equivalent)
Desirable- C1 driving license entitlement
ExperienceEssential- Minimum of 12-months post qualification experience
- Experience of working in pre-hospital emergency & urgent care within the previous 6-months
Desirable- Previous experience of working in a medical capacity in industrial, rescue, or airfield settings
- Previous ambulance HART/SORT experience
Knowledge & SkillsEssential- Ability to work as part of a small team but also independently where required
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook
Desirable- Safe Working at Height training
OtherEssential- Ability to transport medical equipment and casualties over uneven terrain up to 200m
- Ability to utilise Personal Protective Equipment in accordance with training and manufacturers requirements
Desirable- Current BPSS (or higher) security clearance
