Job summary
We are looking to appoint an HST equivalent level doctor to gain experience as part of our Trauma & Orthopaedic team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

This is a fixed term post to provide rota cover for a Trainee vacancy within the department for approximately 6 months. Some aspects of the role can be bespoke to the individual needs of the post-holder and tailored to take into account previous relevant experience, or achievement of requirements for application to specialty training.

This essential role will provide the opportunity for the post holder to develop further surgical skills and competencies. You will work under the direction and supervision of our Orthopaedic Consultants at middle grade level to deliver a high-quality service to our patients, as well as providing support to junior colleagues and nursing staff as required. You will be responsible for clinic activity, first assistant and operating surgeon in theatre and middle grade cover responsibilities on call.

We can offer training opportunities in both emergency and elective surgery. Some aspects of the role can be made bespoke to the individual needs of the post-holder.

Out of hours duties will require participation in a full shift rota. We run 9 week rolling rota pattern.

Due to the short tenure of this post, the successful candidate must be able to start as soon as all employment clearances are received.
