Deputy Clinical Services Manager - Oncology

37.5 Hours & Permanent

Salary: Up to £50,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

The Harbour Hospital in Poole is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Deputy Clinical Services Manager to join their team of staff in the Oncology department.

This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:
  • Work clinically as part of the rota, providing expert oversight and supporting the nursing team during shifts.
  • Ensure the unit operates safely, efficiently, and effectively, upholding high standards of patient care at all times.
  • Act as the key point of contact and leader in the absence of the Clinical Services Manager.
  • Workforce Management
  • Assist with daily staff allocation, rotas, and managing safe staffing levels and skill mix across the unit.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of nursing and support staff.
  • Oversee the fair and efficient management of annual leave, study leave, and sickness.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:
  • Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration.
  • Significant experience in a ward, inpatient, or critical care nursing environment.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Good understanding of governance, patient safety, and ward/critical care protocols.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and leadership skills.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialty or critical care nursing.
  • Leadership or management qualification.
  • ILS/ALS certification.
  • Experience working in private healthcare or a multi-specialty inpatient setting.
