Location: The Ridgeway Hospital, Swindon
Time Type: Full time
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: Up to £27,811.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Pathology Coordinator to join their team of staff in the Pathology department.
This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:
- Oversee the day-to-day coordination of pathology services, ensuring timely and accurate processing of diagnostic tests.
- Liaise with internal departments and external laboratories to manage test requests, collections, and result reporting.
- Act as the first point of contact for pathology-related queries from clinical staff, consultants, and laboratory providers.
- Ensure adherence to sample handling protocols, infection prevention standards, and relevant health and safety procedures.
- Use pathology IT systems and hospital records platforms to enter, retrieve, and monitor test requests and results.
- Monitor stock levels of sample kits, pathology consumables, and courier supplies, reordering as needed.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Previous experience in a healthcare, laboratory, or diagnostic services environment.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to liaise with clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and diagnostic processes.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively.
