Job summaryThis role helps people with complex foot health needs by providing expert assessment and treatment, making a real difference to their comfort, mobility and independence. You'll be part of a supportive podiatry team delivering care across community, clinic and home settings. Your work will support people living with long-term conditions, nerve and circulation problems, and wounds. You'll use evidence-based practice and professional judgement to plan care that is safe, effective and centred on each person. Alongside clinical work, you'll contribute to teamwork, learning and service improvement.
Main duties of the jobWhat you'll do:- Assess, diagnose and treat people with a wide range of complex podiatric needs
- Create and deliver individual care plans that support health, comfort and independence
- Work autonomously while contributing to multidisciplinary team decisions
- Keep clear, accurate clinical records and follow agreed care pathways
- Support and supervise podiatry assistants and learners where appropriate
What we're looking for:- A degree or equivalent qualification in podiatry with current Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration
- Confidence working independently and making clinical decisions
- Good communication skills, with a calm and compassionate approach
- Willingness to work across different settings and with diverse communities
- Commitment to learning, reflection and evidence-based practice

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Degree in Podiatry or Diploma plus equivalent podiatric knowledge/experience
- State Registration with the Health Care Professions Council
Desirable- Evidence of current CPD/formal qualifications at an advanced level e.g. degree plus equivalent experience of specialist podiatric conditions or Post Graduate specialist qualification
KnowledgeEssential- A broad understanding of relevant policy, legislation drivers and their application to clinical and service area, e.g. NICE Guidance, Falls Prevention, Mental Capacity Act, Social Inclusion
- Knowledge of podiatry models of practice, standardised assessments and their use
- Standard IT skills
Desirable- Full understanding of relevant policy, drivers and their application to clinical and service area, e.g. NSF, Social Inclusion
- Full understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified clinical area
- Working knowledge of CHCP CIC policies and procedures
ExperienceEssential- Appropriate knowledge/experience of working in mental health/learning disability clinical practice areas
- Successful completion of preceptorship
Desirable- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area at specialist level of care
- Evidence of specialist practice skills and able to demonstrate the impact of this on practice change/development
- Evidence of promoting/supporting active user/carer involvement/participation
- Demonstrable experience as a Practice Educator of pre-registration students
