Job Responsibilities
Are you a passionate, talented professional with a strong advocate of independence and reablement?

We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to work within the Locality Therapy Team within the East (North Cornwall base) of Cornwall. The team consists of Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Rehabilitation Officers for the Hearing Impaired, a Vision Rehabilitation Specialist and Technical Officers.

The Role:

As part of this, you will be involved in focusing upon preventing, reducing and delaying the need for care and support. This, in turn, will help to ensure that our residents, families, and communities have the right support in the right place at the right time.

You will be involved in completing environmental and functional assessments within a persons home, linking in with reablement and rehabilitation services within your Primary Care Network area as and when needed; assisting with the provision of information and advice; provision of equipment; the recommendation of minor and major adaptations and /or rehousing advice, in order to promote the persons wellbeing and independence.
  • Your role will also involve seeking new, creative, innovative, cost-efficient and effective solutions to the persons situation.
  • You may also be involved in seating and/or moving and handling assessments, advising on optimal care where appropriate.
  • You will need to be innovative with strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to work well under pressure and have an understanding of the six principles of Safeguarding.
  • You will be expected to use evidence-based practice to deliver positive outcomes.

The option of full and/or part time roles can be discussed in the interview.

This is an exciting role and the rewards could be tremendous, both professionally and personally. This is your chance to make a difference in peoples lives. Join us, and you'll be part of a welcoming, committed team with a network of supportive colleagues to work alongside.

This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.
