Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate and motivated individual to lead and manage our 15 bedded inpatient eating disorder unit based in Warwick.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of the people that access our service, whilst working in a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team committed to recovery focused care and treatment.

The role will include working alongside other multi-professionals to deliver exceptional mental and physical health care and the ability to provide supportive leadership and sustain cohesive and collaborative working within the staff team, patient group, wider professionals and carers.

The candidate will need to have a sound clinical knowledge base that enables them to support the team to provide effective, evidence-based care within a specialist service.

Main duties of the job
Our inpatient eating disorders unit supports patients with a diagnosis of an eating disorder who may also have complex mental health needs which require a higher level of care and treatment in a specialist therapeutic setting.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of delivering care from a trauma-informed approach, to ensure that we promote dignity and empowerment to our patient group. The emphasis will be on the ability to show evidence of previous experiences of leading a team that strive to deliver high quality care with compassion to our patient group.

It is important that the applicants have a real desire to work with our patient group and recognise the challenges that this can bring so that there is ability to support patients during their recovery journey. The role requires a high level of resilience and experience within eating disorders / acute psychiatry. Previous experience of working with patients with eating disorders is desirable.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential

• NMC Registration (or equivalent) as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or other relevant qualification.

Experience
Essential

• Substantial post-registration Band 6 and above
• Recent experience working and managing within an inpatient setting.
• Experience in managing a team of staff in a clinical setting
• Involvement in clinical supervision as a supervisor

Knowledge and Skills
Essential

• Good verbal and written communication
• Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act and relevant legislation.
• Able to manage resources effectively
• Able to record information accurately and write reports
• Understanding of current health policy initiatives and the implications for service delivery
• Understanding of clinical governance
