As we move to implement and embed the priorities set out in the NHS Plan, we are committed to investing in our Community Services and the implementation of Neighbourhood Health Model to ensure better outcomes for patients and our residents. Community Nursing is front, and centre of service delivery in the neighbourhood framework and has the greatest interface and impact on the care provided.
The Director of Nursing / Deputy Chief Nurse post is a key strategic post and will support the Chief Nurse , Chief Medical Officer and Managing Director to progress the Community Services Strategy within the context of implementing the Neighbourhood Model. Working closely with ICORs Triumvirate leadership, and alongside the Medical Director for Community Services.
Main Duties of the Job- Strengthening the Quality Framework at Neighbourhood level
- Ensuring the CQC regulatory standards are embedded and met, placing the trust in a position to be outstanding
- Take a lead on developing the Community Nursing strategy
- Working with the Operational teams, provide strategic leadership to
- Enhance the role of nursing in the Integrated Neighbourhood Teams (INTs) working co collaboratively with primary care, adult social care, and voluntary sectors to offer holistic support.
- Develop an integrated workforce strategy for developing and embedding and plan for advanced practice and extended roles in managing complex long-term conditions and frailty.
- Ensure that the model of nursing reflects and integrates social the determinants
- Develop an education and learning strategy learning and development of the existing community nursing workforce is also vital to improving retention as well as enabling the workforce to grow, lead and innovate to meet challenges.
- This post holder will also take a corporate lead on Education and Research
