Job summary
We have two exciting Clinical Nurse Lead position one on Lamesley Ward our female adult acute inpatient ward and Fellside Ward our male adult acute inpatient ward both based at Bamburgh Clinic at St Nicholas Hospital at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW).

The role involves acting as deputy to the ward manager, coordinating evidence-based patient care, supervising nursing staff, and working within a multi-disciplinary team to support recovery-focused inpatient mental health services.

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver compassionate care with a focus on empathy, respect, dignity and kindness to those who are experiencing acute crisis.

The successful candidate will be required to support the MDT developing collaborative needs-based care plans, through assessment planning implementation and evaluation. They will also be expected to facilitate and co-ordinate clinical practice on the ward.

Experience in leading on training and development is essential as well as a knowledge with regards to supporting clinical supervisions and staff appraisals.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide effective leadership to the ward team, supporting the Ward Manager and Specialist Nurse in delivering high-quality, patient-centred, evidence-based care. We are seeking a confident and motivated registered nurse with the skills and experience to lead the delivery of safe and effective care whilst contributing to service improvement and development.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a compassionate approach to care, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. They will be responsible for developing and implementing individualised care plans through comprehensive assessment and clinical formulation.

The role includes coordinating clinical practice, supervising and supporting Staff Nurses and Nursing Assistants, and leading the management of complex mental and physical health needs. The post holder will ensure high standards of care are maintained through effective clinical leadership, professional supervision, and role modelling.

The successful candidate will support the achievement of key performance indicators, quality standards, and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with Trust policies and procedures and promoting continuous improvement. They will provide operational leadership across a 24-hour service, working flexibly across day and night shifts, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
