Job summaryThis is a new post for an adult for a consultant psychiatrist/experienced SAS to provide medical input into the EIP team located in Cumbria. Post holders will work along with multidisciplinary teams covering the adult population in North-Cumbria. The post holder will provide senior clinical expertise in the assessment and treatment of individuals with complex mental health problems and what are termed as at-risk mental states.

post providing senior clinical and leadership input in the Early Intervention in Psychosis team in North Cumbria. Post holder would be expected to work alongside other experienced consultants, nurses and other members of the MDT covering the working adult age population in North Cumbria. The post-holder is expected to:
- Participating in the engagement, assessment, diagnosis and formulation of patients referred to the CTT.
- Be committed to delivering excellence in clinical care,
- Work effectively with the multidisciplinary community team and in-patient teams.
- Promote the safety and well-being of the patients we serve.
- To respect the rights and the dignity of patients.
- To consider the individual and cultural needs of patients and
- Working with families and carers in the best interest of the patient (in line with the Trust Carers' Charter).

Person SpecificationQualifications and TrainingEssential- MBBS (or equivalent)
- Included on GMC Specialist Register (General Psychiatry) or eligible for inclusion, or a trainee within six months of CCT
- Approved under Section12(2) of the Mental Health Act 1983
- Approved Clinician Status
Desirable- MRCPsych or equivalent qualification
- Possess a CCT/CESR in Psychiatry
- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field
- Has undergone training in educational supervision
- Has undergone training in appraisal
KnowledgeEssential- Up to date knowledge in the field of Psychiatry
- Awareness of current issues and controversies in service provision, mental health policy and legislation
Desirable- An area of special interest relevant to the post as demonstrated by publications or presentations to learned societies
ExperienceEssential- Experience of multidisciplinary team working
- Wide clinical experience in general adult psychiatry in different clinical settings
- Experience of Clinical Audit
