Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for Health Visitors to further their career development as Practice Educators.

You will play a key role in supporting the development, education and clinical practice of staff and students across the 0-19 Children's Public Health Service. Working as a Specialist Public Health Nurse and Practice Teacher, the post holder will provide expert teaching, supervision, assessment and professional guidance to support high-quality learning experiences and ensure practitioners are able to meet required professional, NMC, Higher Education Institution and Trust standards.

Main duties of the job
The role will provide visible clinical leadership across Derbyshire, supporting the development of confident, competent and reflective practitioners within health visiting and wider children's services. The post holder will work closely with Locality Managers, Service Development Leads, Practice Teachers and the wider children's workforce to embed evidence-based practice, support service improvement, and ensure learning from policy, audit, incidents, complaints and service-user The post holder will contribute to the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality public health services for children, young people and families, promoting prevention, early intervention and improved health outcomes. They will also support strategic service development, change management and the implementation of local and national public health priorities across the 0-19 service.

Education Qualficiations and Training
Essential

• First level registered Nurse/ Midwife
• Specialist community practice public health nurse qualification (Health Visiting)
• Evidence of recent post registration/ professional learning

• Post Graduate certificate in teaching and assessing/interprofessional education
• Management/ Leadership qualification

Experience and Knowledge required
Essential

• Comprehensive understanding of national and local policy in relation to health services for children and young people
• Understanding the extended childrens' services agenda including integrated team working
• Knowledge and experience of safeguarding practice
• Experience of implementing new ways of working
