Devon's Wellbeing Service is transforming how we support children and families and we're looking for a Clinical Team Manager to join us on this journey. You will manage a team of multi disciplinary practitioners providing assessment, treatment and consultation to children and those supporting and caring for them.

Job responsibilitiesJob Purpose- The post holder will provide day-to-day operational management of the provision of care and treatment within the Wellbeing Service Clinical Team
- To line manage a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians
- To provide specialist clinical interventions and advice as required.
- To provide leadership to the clinical team ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of the service.
- To manage effective operational delivery of the service in collaboration with the operational lead, senior clinicians, and other Team Managers
- To ensure the service is based on best practice and evidence, is outcomes focussed and audit and outcome monitoring is used to improve outcomes for children and young people
- To be an integral part of the Wellbeing Service and wider childrens services leadership team contributing to transformational change and continuous service improvement
- To promote the protection of children, adhering to the Local Safeguarding Childrens Board policies and procedures.
- This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
Main duties and responsibilities- Provide effective collaborative leadership and day to day operational management of the clinical team
- Ensure the effective and efficient delivery of evidence based clinical care including triage, assessment, clinical formulation and care planning, treatment, and discharge of children and young people
- Ensure the service is delivered in partnership with children, young people and their parents/carers, ensuring their active participation is facilitated and feedback elicited, considered and acted-upon
- In partnership with the Clinical Lead, ensure that clinical and non-clinical risks within the pathway are identified and managed effectively
- To maintain systems designed to monitor demand and maintain optimal capacity within the team
- To ensure data is captured and used to drive effective service delivery and improvement
- Work collaboratively with other leaders (professional, clinical and operational), to maintain a culture within the service of excellence in clinical standards and safety
- Work with other Team Managers across childrens services to ensure the clinical pathway is delivered as part of an integrated system of care, to improve outcomes for children and young people
- Provide supervision, operational management and support to clinicians with the ability to demonstrate compassionate leadership, to understand and follow HR policies and procedures, ensure staff wellbeing and development and adopt a collaborative approach to engage staff with a range of skills and communication needs
- Attend, participate and chair relevant meetings with the ability to present information in a range of formats, adapting communication to meet the needs of others
- To deputise for the Clinical Lead and Wellbeing Team Managers as required
Location/MobilityYou may be required to work at, or from, any additional location as may be determined by the organisation from time to time. The organisation also reserves the right from time to time to change your base on a permanent basis to a reasonable location determined by it at the time the change is made.
You may also be required to travel between premises for the performance of your duties.

Person SpecificationManagement of PeopleEssential- Leadership experience
- Evidence of partnership working.
- Ability to lead and manage a team
Desirable- Leadership qualification/evidence of undertaking relevant course
QualificationsEssential- A professional qualification at degree level or equivalent e.g. Psychological profession, Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or equivalent
- Additional specialist training and qualification to post graduate diploma level or equivalent in supervision and/or leadership skills
- Evidence of relevant CPD
Desirable- Additional specialist training and qualification to post graduate diploma level or equivalent in an evidence-based therapeutic approach
ExperienceEssential- Understanding and experience of safeguarding
- Experience of managing and supervising individuals
- Clear understanding of the needs of Children/Young People and their families.
- Knowledge of national and local strategies pertaining to Children and Young people
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Sound knowledge of health presentations in children and young people and the practice of clinical interventions within area of specialty
- Experience in managing HR and recruitment processes including staff appraisals, performance and sickness management
- Knowledge of service and quality improvement methodologies
- Knowledge of clinical outcomes monitoring, service evaluation and audit methodology and ability to critically interpret research findings and data
- Experience of leading and managing multidisciplinary teams
- Experience of working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers, including using goal-based care and routine outcome measures in practice
- Experience of working collaboratively in a multi disciplinary team and across agencies
Desirable- Experience of working within childrens social care
- Expertise in therapeutic support in the following areas of practice - edge of care, children in care and care experienced young people
