Advanced Clinical Practitioner (Pain Management) | Band 8A (or Band 7 ACP Trainee)

Are you an experienced clinician, passionate about transforming the lives of people living with persistent pain? We are seeking an innovative Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to join our dynamic Dorset Pain Management Service, playing a pivotal role in delivering outstanding, person-centred care while driving the development of integrated pain services across the county. We would look for you to be have completed your e-portfolio or equivalent.

This is an opportunity to work autonomously at an advanced level within a multidisciplinary team, managing complex patient presentations, making expert clinical decisions, and leading service improvements that make a real difference to patients. You'll combine advanced assessment, diagnostic reasoning, treatment planning and leadership skills to support patients through their pain management journey.

Beyond clinical practice, you'll be a key leader in service innovation, education, research, quality improvement and be a member of national networks such as Faculty of Pain. With this background, you'll have opportunities to influence our service pathway development, reduce waiting times, champion evidence-based practice, mentor colleagues, and contribute to strategic service planning at both local and regional levels.

Person Specification
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND TRAINING

• Registered health practitioner
• Relevant full Masters degree or demonstrable extensive equivalent experience in the relevant specialty
• Evidence of recent evidence based professional development in an up to date portfolio demonstrating leadership, education and service development achievements including links to national work and standards
• Clear and demonstrable evidence of advanced, autonomous practice in the management of patients / service users
• Knowledge and understanding of the Trust's strategies

JOB SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE

• Evidence of effective leadership and risk management skills
• Evidence of proactive involvement in the supervision and development of members of the multi-disciplinary team and able to demonstrate changes of practice through these
• Demonstrates highly developed expertise and knowledge underpinned by theory acquired through CPD in relation to clinical assessment, treatment and evaluation
• Experience of co-ordinating complex activities / programmes of care with other professionals and agencies.
• Evidence of involvement in the development of programmes of care, protocols and audit

FINANCE/RESOURCES

• Ability to promote the best use of available resources in the pursuit of quality service provision ensuring a safe environment

MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE

• Able to undertake clinical supervision and systematic peer caseload review of colleagues on an individual or group basis
