East Cheshire NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Medicines Safety Pharmacist (Band 7) to join our friendly, forward-thinking and supportive pharmacy team.

This unique role combines dedicated medicines safety responsibilities with clinical pharmacy rotations, offering the opportunity to develop as both a specialist and a highly skilled clinical pharmacist. You will work closely with our Medicines Safety Officer, multidisciplinary teams and pharmacy colleagues to promote the safe and effective use of medicines, support learning from incidents, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and help shape safer systems of care across the Trust.

Main duties of the job
As the Specialist Medicines Safety Pharmacist, you will support the Trust's medicines safety agenda by promoting the safe and effective use of medicines through incident review, quality improvement, medicines governance, education, and optimisation of medicines systems and processes.

Alongside your medicines safety role, you will maintain and develop your clinical skills through rotational ward-based pharmacy, delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care across a range of specialties. This varied post provides an excellent opportunity to influence patient safety while maintaining a strong clinical presence.

Alongside your specialist responsibilities, you will provide high-quality clinical pharmacy services through rotational practice across a range of specialties, including Medical Admissions, Cardiology, Respiratory, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Trauma & Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Intensive Care, Paediatrics, Care of the Elderly, Intermediate Care, Palliative Care, and Pre-operative Assessment.

• Masters degree in pharmacy (MPharm)
• One year pre-registration training
• Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
• Clinical diploma (minimum 1st year or 40 credits completed)
