Job summary
An exciting opportunity has been made available for the right candidate to join our Critical care Physiotherapy team at the William Harvey Hospital in a Clinical Specialist role alongside team leadership responsibilities.

The successful individual will be able to experience leading a team at first-hand alongside other skilled and experienced Clinical specialist team leads on ITU and in the wider Therapy team.

Main duties of the job
This post holder will lead, develop and evaluate critical care and surgical Physiotherapy services at WHH hospital.

They will provide therapeutic clinical expertise, high quality advice and support to the multi-disciplinary team. Clinical supervision, appraisal and teaching will be key components of this role.

They will demonstrate excellent communication and collaborative working, along with other clinical specialists across the Health Economy, in order to provide a high quality, efficient service.

In conjunction with the Clinical and Site Lead they will ensure clinical governance targets are met, including the development of clinical standards and protocols, specialist evidence based practice, audit, research, clinical and non-clinical risk management.

This clinical specialist position offers the exciting prospect of leading the development of this service collaboratively with a well-established multidisciplinary team with opportunities to contribute to EKHUFT's award winning critical care follow up and rehabilitation service.

Qualifications
Essential

• Current HCPC registration
• Degree relevant to professional registration and area of clinical practice
• Evidence of continuing professional development within Critical Care chosen speciality

Desirable

• Master's level qualifications
• NHS Leadership Academy qualification
• Member of CSP

Skills
Essential

• Significant postgraduate healthcare experience equivalent to L7, demonstrating professional development across the four pillars of practice
• Significant experience of care of the Critical Care patient
• Experience of working with patients/service users to resolve concerns and improve their experience
• Experience of supervising staff and delivering training
• Experience of assessing patients and providing high quality intervention for complex patients
• Ability to demonstrate high quality clinical and evidence based practice

Desirable

• Experience of presenting to groups of staff/public

Governance
Essential

• Understanding of quality governance, patient safety and patient experience tools to support clinical practice and service improvement
• Sound knowledge and understanding of national policy and guidance and developments in the NHS; including clinical governance, NICE, CQC and GIRFT
• Utilisation of clinical effectiveness tools to deliver quality improvement
• Evidence of innovative practice utilising research and audit
• Experience of contributing to quality improvement in safety/quality improvement projects
• Experience of writing reports and presenting to teams of small groups
