About us
The Cardiology Department is a part of the Medical Division which provides a full range of services to all adult patients. Dr Ravi Singh is the Clinical Director, Mrs Kathryn Thomson is the Directorate Manager (Interim) and Mr Mustafa Logde is the Deputy Directorate Manager.

We are a nationally recognised department having featured in a video made for the Royal College of Physicians Annual Conference in 2017. Our department was highlighted as one of the high performing non-surgical cardiac centres in the UK. We are one of the largest non-surgical PCI centres in the UK, a recognised centre of expertise in highly complex PCI (a live case was streamed from our cath lab during ACI 2019), the only non-tertiary centre in Lancashire offering Cardiac MRI, highest volume provider of echo services in the north west and a high volume cardiac device implantation centre. We provide the entire range of cardiology diagnostic and therapeutic services except for invasive electrophysiology.

Our inpatient and outpatient services are amongst the busiest in the UK but we are well staffed with highly competent multi-disciplinary personnel who ensure that we consistently deliver on the various targets (6 week diagnostic, 18 weeks therapeutic etc).
