We are seeking a new Band 7 Senior Tissue Viability nurse to lead the Suffolk Community TVN team. You will work closely with Community Nursing leads and fellow senior TVNs, provide advanced evidenced based wound care, undertake monthly audits and work with the Harm Free Lead and community matron to facilitate change across the service
Main duties of the job- To work as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Tissue Viability at Ipswich Hospital by providing expert specialist advice on tissue viability issues through both direct and indirect patient care. The role will also require cross site working at Colchester Hospital and in the Community, working with the other Harm Free Care Leads at ESNEFT to drive strategic improvement specific to Tissue Viability
- To facilitate evidence based practice on wound management, the prevention and management of pressure ulcers and patient requiring Topical Negative Pressure Therapy.
- Monitor and improve patient outcomes relating to tissue viability through pressure ulcer incidence & pressure relieving equipment audits.
- To assist with the co-ordination and provision of tissue viability education throughout ESNEFT.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Registered Nurse recorded on Part 1 of the NMC register
- Degree in relevant subject or evidence of working at that level
- Teaching and assessing qualification
DesirableExperienceEssential- Proven post registration nursing experience at Band 6 level in acute or community tissue viability setting
- Sound knowledge of current trends within Tissue Viability and Pressure Ulcer prevention
- Experience of facilitating change, improving processes and promoting learning at work
Desirable- Ability to undertake research
- Involvement in service review and development
- Ability to undertake audit
- Experience of undertaking sharp debridement
KnowledgeEssential- Ability to lead and work within a team managing and leading junior colleagues
- Accurate IT skills and analysis of information from database systems.
- Ability to write, analyse and interpret audit and research reports.
- Able to interpret complex data and present findings clearly in order to inform decision making.
- Able to work autonomously prioritising own and others workloads achieving a balance between clinical and other aspects of the role
