Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our portering team at Eastbourne Hospital. This is a position working 12 hour shifts, days and nights.

A porter within a busy acute hospital setting will carry out many responsible duties. The main role and responsibilities are to move patients around from wards and departments such as X-Ray, CT, MRI, A&E.

Main duties of the job
Porters also attend fire calls, Emergency calls, Resus calls to assist the clinical teams, medical gasses and helicopter landings. This is a varied jobs role which the successful applicant will be required to be in good physical health.

A Trust induction and full training will be given.

Qualifications

• Evidence of good general education including Maths and English

• Knowledge of portering role / NVQ level 2

Experience

• Previous Portering experience
• Previous experience of working as part of a team

Desirable

• Customer Service or relevant experience relating to NHS.

• Knowledge of general hospital environment.

• Good communication skills both verbal and non-verbal
• Ability to complete basic written reports.
• Ability to prioritise duties against set parameters.
