Clinicians are welcome to develop their specialist areas of interest and we are always interested in taking on GP's who wish to develop new and more fulfilling ways of working, especially with a digital focus.

We are closely involved with our Primary Care Networks (PCN's) and take an active role in their growth and development. The exciting work we are able to do at a PCN level enables us to work at a community level to improve population health across our PCN's as well as improve the range of services our patients are able to access.

Accordingly the Job Description, Person Specification and the Employment Contract all reflect this new model of working.

Main duties of the job

• To provide personal medical services to the registered practice population and to ensure that targets are met in terms of activity and quality in line with the PMS / GMS / APMS or any other contract that may exist.
• To provide patient centred consultations and ensure that the patients are always provided with excellent health care.
• To contribute to the updating and development of the clinical policies and to ensure compliance with the CQC procedures.
• To contribute to and support the development of digital clinical pathways for the effective support and management of high quality and timely provision of patient care.
• To provide daily clinical supervision to ACPs, Nurses, ANPs and GP trainees at your site, as set out in the current Job Plan. Where you are a designated supervisor for an Advanced Care Practitioner or Trainee, additional protected supervision slots will be allocated and your clinic timetable adjusted accordingly
• To act quickly to protect patients from risk if the post holder has good reason to believe he/ she or a colleague may not be fit to practice by using the First 4 Health Group Whistle blowing policy.

Job responsibilities

• To provide personal medical services to the registered practice population and to ensure that targets are met in terms of activity and quality in line with the PMS / GMS / APMS or any other contract that may exist between Stratford Village Surgery (SVS), Church Road Health (CRH), Glen Road Medical Centre (GRMC), E7 Health (E7H) and Newham (or other) Integrated Care System (ICS), Integrated Care Board (ICB) or National Commissioning Boards.
• To work within the clinical session structure set out in the current Job Plan: a normal appointment is 10 minutes; a routine session runs for 4 hours 10 minutes, with an expectation of seeing at least 15 booked patients within the first 3 hours; and the maximum number of sessions per week is 9 (full-time). Patient numbers, session composition and length are a guide only, and clinical workload must take account of patient need and complexity, urgent work, home visits, supervision responsibilities and safe-working principles.
• To be active in the clinical audit, education and training for staff in the practice especially medical students, GP registrars, Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Paramedics, Advance Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Physician Associates, HCAs and other staff such as Social Prescribers, and Health & Wellbeing Coaches recruited under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS).

Qualifications
Essential

• Fully registered with the GMC
• General Practice (Vocational Training Scheme) trained
• On a PCT Medical Performers List
• Enhanced DBS Check & Current Certificate (including registration with the DBS Update Service where applicable)
• Current BLS / First Aid Certificate
• Level 3 Child Protection Training Certificate

Desirable

• Further qualifications relevant to general practice
• MRCGP

Experience
Essential

• Experience of working in UK general practice
• Understanding of Patient Demand in deprived areas
• Understanding of the role of teamwork in providing quality services
• Experience in Chronic Disease Management
• Experience of teaching in general practice and a clear commitment to teach our GP registrars
• Experience in maintaining patients records at an acceptable standard for audit purposes
• To understand the patients perspective in developing and delivering quality services
• Understand CCGs and the implications of working in Clusters
• The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
• The ability to develop close working partnerships between individuals, teams and organisations
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
