About the Role
This is a pivotal role requiring strong clinical expertise and leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care. As an Occupational Therapist Team Lead, you will be responsible for managing a complex caseload, guiding the multidisciplinary team (MDT), and shaping service development.

The role covers a 7 day service, however we can offer full time or part time hours to suit your needs.

Main duties of the job
The Team Lead Occupational Therapist will provide both clinical leadership and operational oversight for the therapy team within the unit. This role will involve supporting the therapy team to provide person-centred care to service users with complex needs, using specialist occupational therapy skills to assess, plan, and deliver high-quality, evidence-based interventions and plan complex discharges.

You will also lead on person-centred care planning and ensure the team's adherence to best practices, including quality and governance frameworks. In addition to clinical duties, you will have operational responsibilities such as management, recruitment, staff supervision, and service improvement initiatives.

• Provide expert clinical leadership and act as a professional role model within the MDT.
• Work autonomously, ensuring accountability for personal and delegated clinical tasks.
• Develop and implement service strategies and clinical standard operating procedures.

Qualifications
Essential

• Occupational Therapy Degree
• HCPC Registration

Desirable

• Clinical Educator / Student Educator qualification
• NHS Leadership Training
• Educated to Masters level

Experience

• Significant relevant B6 experience
• Leadership experience
• Experience of multidisciplinary working
• Experience of audit

Desirable

• Clinical experience in different settings e.g. acute/community
• Community experience

Skills & Knowledge
Essential

• Highly developed professional knowledge base, supported by educational development and different work environments.
• Knowledge of current political drivers in relation to health and social care issues
• Highly developed knowledge of general management practice, including organisational performance management, finance, human resources and equality and diversity.
• Understanding & involvement of Clinical Governance and risk assessment

• Hospital discharge policies and processes
