Closing date midnight 6th SeptemberPlease read the attached job description and person specificationMain duties of the jobIn Advanced Clinical Practice you will be integral to the closed hand trauma pathway working within orthopaedic and plastic hand clinics. The post-holder will be expected to work with a high degree of personal and professional autonomy, exercising sound judgement to meet the demands of the role with integrity. You will bring leadership and expertise to ensure patients receive consistently excellent care. You will work closely with the MDT and fellow Advanced Clinical Practitioners to drive service innovation.

We are a team of thirty therapists supported by three assistants working across the Guys and St Thomas' hospital sites so excellent communication skills are essential.We strive to provide an excellent service that we would be happy to recommend to our friends and family and put patient care at the heart of everything that we do.
Hand Therapy is part of the Cancer and Surgery clinical group with a supportive and progressive management structure. Desirable- Accredited Hand therapist
QualificationsEssential- Masters level or equivalent training in specialist area or evidence of significant practical experience, research or publication in specialist area
Desirable- Recognised ACP therapist with either accredited ACP masters degree or through e-portfolio route
ExperienceEssential- Clinical experience commensurate with the role in Hand Therapy with a minimum of several years at an advanced level
- Evidence of continuing professional development and post registration education and training
- Experience of research and audit
- Proven leadership skills in managing and developing teams
- Advanced performance in a range of clinical skills in physical disability and Hand Therapy
Desirable- Previous band 8 experience in hand therapy
- Published/presented research/QI/audit in field of hand therapy
SkillsEssential- Advanced specialist hand therapy skills including assessment, diagnosis, orthosis fabrication and selection (static, neoprene and dynamic), application and analysis of treatment modalities
