Job summary
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is inviting Expressions of Interest from clinicians who are passionate about digital transformation, innovation and improving patient care through technology. The Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) will play a key strategic leadership role within the Trust's digital leadership team, working in close partnership with the Chief Nursing Information Officer (CNIO), Director of Digital and AI, and clinical leaders across the organisation to shape and deliver our digital vision. Together, the CMIO and CNIO will provide strong clinical leadership to ensure digital solutions support safe, effective and person-centred care for both patients and staff. Main duties of the job
- Providing strong clinical leadership of the strategic development, design and implementation of informatics and information technology across the organisation.
- Overseeing the strategic leadership of the procurement, development, deployment, reengineering, optimisation and integration of clinical information systems to ensure they support clinicians in the delivery of safe and effective patient care.
- Provide visible and influential medical leadership for the Trust's digital and information strategy, proactively identifying, evaluating and leading the adoption of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and digital innovations, to support service transformation and continuous improvement
- Ensuring that the clinical organisation is maximising the use of technology and shared information to provide high quality, safe and effective care for service users.
- Ensuring that delivery of the technology and information changes appropriately balance the needs of:
- Iimproving operational performance
- Iimproving quality of care; reducing delays in the patient pathway
- Meeting security and confidentiality needs
- Enabling continuous improvement through monitoring and research to develop improved treatment methods
- Extending patient choice and patient involvement.
- Specific leadership roles in a wide range of deployment and improvement projects across the full range of clinical information systems.

- Current good standing registration with relevant professional body, maintenance of all revalidation requirements as necessary
